Kate Winslet wins legal battle against Grazia

Kate Winslet has won a court case against Grazia magazine for stating that she used a diet doctor to help her slim down.

The magazine printed an article stating that Kate had approached a doctor in spite of her saying that she never would bow to Hollywood pressure to lose weight.

Dr Yi Pan, a Chinese physician with a private diet clinic in Southern California discussed treatments he offered to other A-List celebrities suggesting that he was also a consultant to Ms Winslet. However Kate’s solicitor Rachel Atkins argued that she visited the practice in order to deal with a neck injury and not a weight loss issue.

Actor Kate Winslet will donate her substantial damages to an eating disorder charity.

Kate Winslet has always taken a firm stance on how the industry has always dealt with actress sizes and she is adamant that she will not change "I am not a hypocrite," she said. "I have always been, and shall continue to be, honest when it comes to body/weight issues.

Grazia magazine apologized in full and admitted that their story was incorrect Kate Winslet said “It gives me tremendous peace of mind. I feel very strongly that 'curves' are natural, womanly and real.”

Kate Winslet has often argued that the press have over-documented stories about her weight fluctuations and the British edition of Gentlemen's Quarterly magazine published photographs of Winslet which had been digitally enhanced to make her look dramatically thinner than she really was; Winslet issued a statement saying that the alterations were made without her consent.

Winslet, who has received five Oscar nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and been awarded one BAFTA, said she was "delighted" the matter had been resolved.
